On January 18, 1991 The Meyers Law Firm officially opened for business in temporary quarters with loaned furniture and a part time paralegal. It was then known as the law offices of Martin M. Meyers. The mission then was the same as it has been ever since – use my passion for trying lawsuits to help people who need the help, often desperately. Although it was a number of years later that my wife presented me with a life sized figure of Don Quixote, the sentiment it expresses ("to fight for the right, without question or pause") was there from the beginning.
In 1993, the name was changed to The Meyers Law Firm in honor of my father, who became of counsel to the firm upon his retirement after serving 28 years as state trial judge. We benefited greatly from his wisdom and counsel for the next twelve years until his death in 2005.
In the more than twenty years since the firm was started, we have helped hundreds of clients in cases big and small, of almost every kind – slip and falls and car wrecks, medical and legal malpractice, products liability, will contests and trust disputes, sexual harassment and employment discrimination, and more.
In addition to the results we have obtained for our clients, we have been favored with many recognitions of accomplishment by our fellow lawyers. Most recently, in 2011, the Kansas City Business Journal noted that Martin Meyers was one of only 21 Kansas City lawyers to be voted by his peers as Best of the Bar for ten consecutive years.
Our formula is simple – work hard, stay on top of the latest advances in technology and courtroom methods and be straight forward with our clients, our adversaries and the Courts. It is a formula we would like to put to work for you.
